Entrada de blog The secrets out: new subjects tomorrow
If you read yesterday's post, you may be curious about the subjects we are launching tomorrow. We were going to keep it a secret; but, we’d hate to keep you waiting any longer! Not to mention – you’ve earned it – our first World Freerice Week – 6 Degrees of Freerice – has been picking up steam! Our existing network of Freericers have really risen to the challenge and absolutely deserve some kudos.
Ready? ... starting tomorrow, you will be able to access our new "Human Anatomy" category on the subjects page: Freerice.com/category.
Like all of your other favorite categories, it’s a fun and engaging way to learn about something you might not have already known! Ever heard of a femur bone? Arteries – do they carry blood to or from the heart? Check it out and find the answer!. For many of our most committed Freericers – this topic is sure to keep you engaged with new challenges!
New subjects open up new doors for inviting friends to play even after World Freerice Week is over! The more people who know about Freerice, the more rice we can raise. So please, share these subjects with any friend and family who have a passion to learn and help the hungry:
World Freerice Week Update: Since Monday, we've had almost 400 groups created, with some groups boasting over a 100 members! We know fighting hunger is enough motivation to take part, but remember that there are 3 video cameras and t-shirts up for grabs too! Find out more here
Freerice is maintained by and supports the United Nations World Food Programme, the world's largest humanitarian organization fighting hunger worldwide. To find out more go to WFP.org
I'm glad I'm on Freerice.com because it help save people from dieing
That's great. I think its an awesome way to learn and help people at the same time. World hunger is an imperative issue deserving of attention. The math section has helped me out in school and at the same time I know that thanks to that someone can eat a little more in another part of the world; its a fascinating thing.
And especially since I like science, I'm loving the new subject!
And history would be great - you could do certain areas as separate subjects under the heading, eg Wars, Britain, US, Explorers, Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa, etc. This could make Freerice a useful tool in classrooms and again we'd be learning lots. Also as another science subject, how about having the muscles and skeletons as well as anatomy. I have friends just starting University who need a test to remember all these things as they're studying medical subjects. And they'd be feeding people at the same time.
The new subjects are great. Please check the spelling of everything before you launch! It would be great to have some little known landmarks from Australia too!
I think it would be cool if you did more difficult math...I like to try to do math problems in my head that have 2,3, or 4 digits.
Yahooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!:D NEW SUBJECTS TOMORROW!?!? cant wait
here we go more subjects means more work!!!
It's nice to have something new to try for once...Finally! a new topic I can look forward to tomorrow!
How about a history category? Famous people? US Presidents? Dates? It could be used in my classroom more if we had something like this too.
This needs Latin in the language learning section! I know a bit but I want to learn more! Like here, Salutis de Moritius, That just proves I have been studying, and plus that means "We salute those who are about to fall" :D
Good fun to have more subjects!
