Dear Freericers,

In recent days, some of you may have noticed that the pronunciation tool is no longer working for vocabulary words. We had been using a free service that has suddenly changed its set-up.

We're working on a solution but, until we manage to resolve the problem, we have disabled the pronunciation functionality.

We'll keep you posted! (Just not out loud.)

Oh, I do hope you find a work around for the pronunciation feature--it is invaluable for vocabulary learners, native speakers included!

I'd like to see the Maths with harder levels based on mixed sums - BODMAS and other topics such as Biology and Physics. Here in the UK we use key stages 2,3 and 4 which help our kids revise for major exams. I recommend this site to them for limited practice.

Thanks for posting this. I'd been looking to solve what I thought was a problem with my browser! I hope you can add this pronunciation tool again - my students like it a lot. :)

As long as the pronunciation voices are down, why not consider some new enunciators that speak slowly and articulately? There seems to be a hodgepodge of voices, some of which have a raspy quality. The sound volume varies widely also.

There are a lot of problems with Free Rice. The most annoying is that sometimes your grains number gets stuck and doesn't go any higher.

I sure hope that you can find a way to have the pronunciation tool again. I usually know what the words mean but many of them I have never heard spoken aloud.

Not trying to oppose you but not all translations are correct and some words have several meanings which may not be the first translation that pops up (of course, people can click the translation and see the other possible references).

Anyway, I hope that we can find a good solution soon. I'll search the web to see if I can find any other reliable websites/sources we can use.
